Bowler Hats

The bowler hat trend has been on my radar for a while, but I have always been too chicken to pop that hat on my head....until now! That's right I finally bought this wardrobe staple *hurrrrah* Bowler hats are a quirky trend that give an indie edge to any outfit. The traditional bowler hat has that Charlie Chaplin round bowler head. As I have a rather large head, any time I tried one on I immediately took it off again. Thanks to Topshop my problem has been solved. The correct name is a Pork Pie hat, It is just more squared on the crown. Grab it here. This is a great version, even if the original style doesn't suit you. You can find the bowler version here. Who else loves this trendy hat?!

Saturday Night: Casual Chic

Saturday night has arrived. Drinks with friends? A date? What to wear? Well I had a quick look in my wardrobe and thought of two very achievable looks. Using the same blazer, a t-shirt, denims/shorts and you have two easy wear outfits.

Everyone has a pair of denims in their wardrobe but I am loving the coloured skinnys at the mo! They are a big statement piece. How about shorts? Not willing to get your pins out tonight, or feeling the chill...pop on a pair of tights (i live in them).  These leather look ones I bought last year in Topshop on a buying trip to London.

There are loads of shorts out at the moment on the hight street. A colour like black is easy to style and wear. My love for t-shirts is clear for all to see...I have loads. Grey and white being my go-to colours. I have this one from Topshop in both the speckled grey and white (i actually have 2 white... shameful). Zara do great basic t's too fyi :)

My gold lovage continues with this envelope clutch bag from ASOS. Big enough for my purse, iPhone and lippy ;) Pop on a necklace or some gold accessories and you are set to impress. Casual, chic and easy to wear!

Ombre Hair

Hair is a major fashion trend at the moment....hair is your crown ladies! At the moment I love ombre hair, it has been around for a while but seems to be staying. Originating from the french word "Ombre" meaning shaded or graduated in tone. The look involves darker roots which gradually become lighter as you go down the hair; giving a natural, sun kissed look.

My friends and I have all been discussing this look and trying to achieve it all year. One of my best friends Sarah was the latest to give it a go and to say I love the results is an understatement. She brought some images in to the salon and I think it turned out amazing. Sarah lives in Scotland so I only have one image....gorge. I always get my hair done in Yourells in Galway city, ask for Anna or Marie and they will work with your request.

Ombre hair has become a huge celebrity hair trend among Hollywood's hottest actresses, models and fashionistas. Celebs like Rachel Bilson, Lauren Conrad to Lilly Aldridge have been seen with this beachy look hair trend. The ombre hair look is also practical for women who still want to get their hair done, but don't necessarily want to spend the time or the cash needed to go to the salon every 4-6 weeks to get touch-ups. This look affords women more time between salon visits due to it's natural and low maintenance style. This to me (as a blonde) is a major plus!!! So if you have been looking for a new; easy going mane without breaking the bank, give ombre hair a go.
